free fall (03) ◯○ when you’re drunk
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
everything is blue, his hair… | ROLE MODEL | 🗝️ got7 content | materialist
english isn’t my first language. ot7 scenario. non idol — you just drunk ﷼
Tumblr media
lim jaebeom
You’re at the restaurant having a girl’s dinner and you’ve drank a couple glasses of wine since you arrived, without noticing how drunk you are.
Since you’re dizzy, one of your friends called Jaebeom to pick you up. Then, your boyfriend appears, grabbing your bag and taking you out of the restaurant.
“Babyyy” You say lovingly while you try to walk on your high heels.
Jaebeom decides to carry you in his arms as a princess since you can’t even walk properly. “Why do you wear these high heels knowing that your feet’s are hurting?” He complains looking at you.
You just smile, kissing his lips quickly. “Because I look pretty” He smiles and continue his way to the car.
mark tuan
Doesn’t like when you’re drunk because he knows how much you hate throwing up, so he tries to remind you to not drink too much, but at the end of the day you ended up being drunk.
He knows when you want to throw up because you hold his hand and start to hyperventilate. He guides to the bathroom and stays by your side, tying your hair in a ponytail and rubbing your back.
“It’s okay, babe” He says to comforts you because of your emethophobia. Cleans your tears and kiss your back at the same time you try to fight against it.
At the end, he hugs you and helps you to clean your hands and mouth.
jackson wang
After going to a party, you end up being drunk and start to be very talkative, which have made Jackson laugh. Nonetheless, if he lets you, you can easily disappear from his sight so that’s why he carries you in his shoulder on your way home.
“Why did we leave? It was funny” You complain, touching his butt occasionally.
“Princess, you were jumping around everyone and laughing like a crazy. It was funny for you but some people were scared” He said going upstairs.
You laugh loudly, moving and smiling. “Even though, it was funny”
“Stop moving” He says, smacking your ass.
“Babe!”
park jinyoung
He’s so sweet and patient with you.
You ended up sleeping in his arms at the back seat on the way home, totally dozed off after the party. Even if he’s worried, he let’s you have fun and drink how much you want because he knows that you’ve been stressed the last couple months.
He carries you in his back and leaves you in the bed while he takes out your heels, jewelry and makeup, doing it slowly so you don’t wake up.
He kiss your forehead and sleeps by your side, paying attention in case you want to throw up.
choi youngjae
Whenever you get drunk, you become the most lovely person and even more if you’re with your boyfriend. You two decided to have a date and after a couple of glasses of wine, you’re drunk.
“My loveeee” You call him, reaching his hand and kissing it, making him smile.
“Honey, let me pay for this and we can go” He says quietly but you just hug his back.
He helps you to get in the car and put his jacket on you while you kiss his face, leaving red marks all over.
After that, the car ride is calm because you fell sleep as soon as you got inside, making him smile.
bambam
Might be drunk too.
But if he’s drunk too, he’s still protecting you from other men actions in the club.
You dance for him while he’s recording and you can hear his laugh in the video. “Baby, do it again” He says with a smile, being ready to record you.
You two have fun but if he sees a man looking at you with other intentions, he pulls you back to his side, letting the man know that you have a boyfriend.
At the way home, he takes advantage of you sleeping in his chest to take some photos and show you the next day.
kim yugyeom
Can be a little drunk too but he makes sure you stay by your side. You two went out with your friends for a dinner and you’ve been drinking a couple beers together, but he knows how easily you can get drunk.
He puts his hand in your tight, taking your beer out of your hand. “I think it’s enough” He says quietly, kissing your cheek quickly.
You sigh feeling a little hot, resting your head in his shoulder. “You wanna go now?” He asks, noticing your tiredness.
After you said yes, Yugyeom takes you out of the restaurant and drive you home, helping you to undress yourself. Then, you two sleep together.
xoxo girl💋…

Missed Me?
Pairing: Park Jinyoung x female reader
Genre: fluff
Tropes: established relationship (of sorts)
Warnings: a tiny bit of 4th wall writing at the very end.
Word count: 849
Author’s Note: he’s back, and my heart and mind wasn’t prepared for how loud he’d be about it *rolls eyes*
Tumblr media
Glancing up, you blinked in rapid succession before letting out a groan.
The man leaning against the doorframe pretended not to know why you had reacted like that at the mere sight of him, asking a soft “what?” in response. And yet, you saw the mirth within his dark gaze, the slight crinkle at the corners of his eyes giving him away. He was pleased to have you reacting to him again.
“Nope,” you declared, shaking your head to accompany the statement. “Absolutely not.”
“Haven’t you missed me?”
“Me? Miss you?” You forced out a laugh that rang somewhat hollow. But Park Jinyoung didn’t deserve the satisfaction of knowing you had thought of him often over the past eighteen months. You wouldn’t let it out that you would pause mid-action at times considering how he would have loved to be there in the moment. How you would hear something, and your immediate response was to contact him and tell him so. Late at night, when the darkness was your only companion, how you longed to be a little less lonely and curled up within his warm embrace. You had chosen to take his departure from your life as a clean break. And he didn’t need to know how much you had failed within your heart and mind to truly escape him.
A raised eyebrow in your direction made you sputter incoherently. He was too observant. You wondered how much your expression had given your pondering away. Jinyoung folded his arms across his chest, his toned physique making for quite a beautiful and distracting imagery. “Really? Not even a little?”
“Of course not! I was completely fine without you,” you lied with a straight face – at least you hoped so – and made a shooing gesture with your hand. “Stop leaning on the threshold. You’re not the main protagonist of my life, so you don’t need to do what main male characters do in fictional stories.”
He almost succeeded in keeping the smirk from truly crossing his lips, instead turning to his acting skills and crossing the room towards you with a pout gracing his annoyingly kissable lips. You immediately diverted your gaze to your laptop, then to your phone, failing to unlock it with your fingerprint, which flustered you further.
Curse him into damnation.
“I missed you,” he announced, and you flinched, equally being acutely aware of his proximity and not yet ready for the closeness of his earnest statement. His hand lifted to your chin and guided your focus back to his face. Oh, how you had yearned to see this man up close and in person again. You blinked several times, and he continued to pout. “I missed you so much it hurt.”
“You’ve clearly survived.”
“Did I?” he questioned, waiting to see how you’d respond. He let out a sigh when you didn’t take his bait. “I don’t know how you could do it, Y/N. A clean break from me? You’re stronger than I am.”
You narrowed your gaze. “We did have a clean break.”
“Did we? I beg to differ.”
“We did! I haven’t seen you once since you went away.”
“Not in person, no. But I’ve been following you on social media.”
You huffed, straightening to your full height. “You and social media?! It was like a ghost town with you over the past eighteen months! I had to resort to looking for glimpses in—!”
You clamped your hands over your mouth at what he had managed to weasel out of you and diverted your gaze once again.
A rich, melodious laughter rumbled out of Jinyoung, and you cursed your traitorous heart for swooning at the sound, revelling at hearing it again. Then your heart stalled altogether when his strong arms encased you, tugging you flush against his warm body.
“What am I going to do with you?” Jinyoung mused, his hand reaching up to your hair and ruffling it affectionately. “You know, normal people are elated when someone they love returns home. They bounce right into the arms of their lover and proclaim just how much they love and missed them. But not you. ‘Nope. Absolutely not?’ Of course, you would say something so ridiculous.”
“Well!” you grumbled out indignantly. “I wasn’t expecting you to be there.”
“You know me too well, sweetheart,” he claimed, pulling you back from him enough so he could gaze down at you, a bright smile gracing his handsome face. “You should have expected at the first chance I got that I would be back in your life.”
“As loud as ever,” you muttered.
However, this time, it was you who moved first, burying yourself deeper into his embrace, feeling his laughter vibrate up through his chest. Closing your eyes, you inhaled deeply, allowing yourself the moment of reacclimatising with your one true nemesis.
And truest love.
“And to think,” he started, making you grow rigid at what could possibly follow. “You haven’t really been writing of late. All I had to do was come back and now look at you. A whole story. All because of me.”

Tumblr media
Pairing: king!Jinyoung x chef!reader
Genre: royalty au, angst
Rating: PG
Summary: When faced with your departure, Jinyoung puts his foot down once and for all.
Word Count: 1.3k
Warnings: Mild language
A/N: recommending you vs them as we welcome grumpy cat home!
Tumblr media
“Say that again,” Jinyoung commanded, voice low and even. The servant stuttered out the words, biting his tongue in the process. Jinyoung dropped his silverware and pushed away from the table, pulling the napkin tucked in his collar free and dropping it on the floor. “Like hell she is. Not without talking to me first.”
He blew down the hallway to the kitchen like a tropical storm, bumping into furniture and frightening the piss out of anyone in his way. Sure, they’d all seen his wrath before, but nothing like this. Behind his fury was something deeper and much more terrifying: fear.
He burst into the kitchen with a bang as the doors hit the wall. “What the hell do you mean you’re leaving?” All eyes turned to his except the pair he spoke to. “The last time I checked, all employment and termination decisions went through the king.”
You sighed and turned away from the sink, abandoning the pot you used to cook the last meal you’d prepare in the castle. It was a sentimental, menial task that you’d hoped you’d be able to get through without tears. “Your Majesty, you deserve better. Someone with more talent and knowledge of nutrition. I’ve arranged for a new head chef—”
“EVERYBODY OUT.” Jinyoung bellowed. Metal clinked and feet scuffled over the ceramic floor as the help scurried away. Some even glanced at you, convinced it was the last time they’d see you alive. When the door shut behind the last person, Jinyoung drew in a shaky breath and spoke with an eerie calmness. “Who gave you the permission to make such a bold decision?”
You swallowed and cleared your throat. “I am confident it’s for the best. I meant no disrespect—”
“Of course you did.” He stalked closer, taking his time as he spoke. “You deliberately kept me in the dark. Everyone must know but me, right?”
You instinctively backed away, but he kept advancing until your back hit the counter’s edge. “I knew you’d try to stop me. Your Majesty, with your engagement to the princess—”
“How many times do I have to tell you I have no interest in marrying her?” He swallowed the lump in his throat. “I don’t care what the council says, I choose who I marry. If anyone’s walking down that aisle with me, it’ll be you.”
“Your Majesty, please.”
“Stop calling me that. I hate it when you talk to me like that.”
You huffed and tried again. “Jinyoung. They’ll overthrow you and choose someone who doesn’t care for the kingdom or its people. And you could do a lot worse than her.”
He paused, his dark eyes searching yours for a moment that stretched into eternity. “She doesn’t care for me as a person. She only sees the crown and the status. I’d rather chew my arm off than spend one night in bed with her. But you, I’d give everything I own just to wake up with you in my arms once. I’d even give my life—” He cut off, the words choking in his throat as he struggled to maintain his composure.
You pressed your lips together, feeling the cold press of the counter digging into your back. “It’s not about how we feel, it’s about what’s necessary. Your kingdom needs stability, an alliance that marriage to the princess will provide.”
Jinyoung ran a hand through his tousled hair, a gesture laced with frustration and desperation. “Damn it, _____! Since when did you start caring more about politics than—than us?” His voice cracked.
You felt a twinge of pain at his words, knowing how deeply intertwined both your lives had become since those forbidden meetings began, sharing secret glances across crowded rooms long before rumors of betrothal ever surfaced. “It’s always been about us,” you replied softly, earnestly. “But can there be an ‘us’ if everything you’ve worked for falls apart? If everyone turns against you?”
He was silent for a long moment before he stepped closer again, this time with a gentle caution. He lifted his hand, hesitated, and then placed it gently against your cheek. “They can turn every stone in the kingdom against me if they wish,” he murmured, “but if losing you is the price of this crown, then it weighs too much already.”
Your breath hitched as his thumb traced the line of your jaw, a feather-light touch that could almost make you forget the gravity of the conversation. “Jinyoung, you can’t… we can’t not consider the consequences. Your throne, the welfare of your people…”
He shook his head, a small smile playing on his lips as if amused by a thought known only to him. “My heart knows no subjects like it knows you. How can I lead a kingdom when its king is fractured into his own regrets? I need to be whole; you make me whole.”
The words had the soft lilt of poetry, but they hung heavy in between the two of you. How could love and duty weigh so unevenly on the scales of a ruler’s life? But then, out past the aisles of power, away from cloaked discussions and strategic alliances, it was simply you and him.
“But there is a reality beyond what we want,” you managed to say, though your voice came out hushed against the fervor in his eyes. “If wishing made it so, Jinyoung—”
“Let’s wish then,” he interrupted fiercely. “Let’s wish and work for it. Challenge conventions, change the course. I’ll talk to my council, turn around every stone until they see you—as I see you—not just as a chef or a commoner, but as my queen.”
Your heart fluttered dangerously at such declarations—a mix of dread and exhilaration pumping through your veins. “And if it turns against us? What then?” You knew this wasn’t simply about defying norms; it was about steering an entire kingdom through turbulent waters, potentially creating rifts where there had been none before.
Jinyoung’s eyes darkened with resolve, his grip tightening comfortingly on your shoulder. “Then we battle those tides together,” he declared staunchly. “We face every challenge as one. If the council resists, if the nobles object—they must see that my decisions are for the kingdom’s true good. And nothing is good for me—or for this kingdom—if it tears me away from you.”
The raw honesty in his voice sent shivers through you. Here was a man who would stake all he had for his heart’s cause, even if it meant upheaval in realms beyond imagining. But could love truly conquer all—even a kingdom fraught with ancient traditions and powerful adversaries?
“Jinyoung,” you started, your voice laden with an ache of longing and fear, “I want to believe we can do this. But history is littered with tales of kings and queens who succumbed to personal desires at the expense of their thrones. Are we prepared to be a tale of caution or of victory? How can we ensure our story won’t be etched in tragedy?”
He let out a breathy laugh, partly bitter, partly hopeful. “Our story,” he said contemplatively, as if savoring each syllable, “will be one we write each day, intricately intertwined with love and bold enough to imprint on the sands of history not as caution but as legend.”
Your eyes welled up at the sincere ambition in his words—a vision so grand it could indeed either bind or devastate an empire. His fingers brushed away a tear. In his eyes, you saw hope, strength, and love. If he was willing to risk it all for you, shouldn’t you reward him with your faith, commitment, and trust? You found yourself nodding, smiling through your tears, both to him and your own unspoken question.
“Then I’ll stand beside you every step of the way.”

"It's not worth it" - Jinyoung
Tumblr media
You knew this would happen. You and Jinyoung had recently announced your relationship to the GOT7 boys. Part of the reason you had kept it quiet early on was because you knew there would be teasing. You could have also predicted that BamBam and Jackson were going to be the main perpetrators.
You were out for a group dinner for the first time since they found out and the teasing started immediately. You honestly weren't too bothered by it, but you noticed Jinyoung's clenched jaw as he glared at the members who were talking. You took his hand under the table and gave it a little squeeze, trying to silently tell him to let it go.
Once the food came out, things quietened down for a moment.
"Don't let them get to you," you whispered to Jinyoung.
He just nodded in acknowledgment, but you knew he hadn't really taken your comment to heart.
As you finished eating, you took Jinyoung's hand again and shot him a little smile.
"Ah, look at you two all loved up," BamBam started again.
"Cut back on the PDA though," Jackson added.
You rolled your eyes at the comment, but once again Jinyoung couldn't let it slide.
"We looked at each other. How is that PDA?"
"Relax, Jinyoung-ie," Jackson told him, before turning to you. "Are you sure about him? He's a bit uptight!"
You bit your lip to keep yourself from chuckling and further annoying your boyfriend.
Then, you jumped slightly as Jinyoung brought his hand down on the table.
"Jinyoung!" you scolded.
"What was the one thing I asked of you, Jackson?" he snapped, ignoring your interjection.
Jackson stared blankly at Jinyoung.
"All I said was don't tease Y/n," he continued. "You can wind me up all you like but when she's around, you knock it off."
"But she's our friend too," Jackson pointed out.
"Yeah, she's used to us, she knows what we're like," BamBam added.
You were about to agree with them, when Jinyoung  spoke again.
"I'm crazy about Y/n, ok? The last thing I want is you idiots scaring her off."
"Jinyoung-ie, that's so sweet," you said, your voice now softer, "And I'm very pleased you want me to stick around, but the boys are right, I've known them for long enough that I expected this. A little teasing among friends isn't going to make me leave."
"Ok, but-"
"No, it's not worth it. I want to be with you, and Jackson and BamBam being littles shits isn't going to change that."
Jinyoung couldn't help but smile and chuckle as the troublemakers complained at your choice of words. Smiling back, you leant in and pecked a soft kiss to his lips.
It surprised you somewhat when the resulting 'Ew' came from Yugyeom.
"Don't you start," you told him with a smile, before resting your head on Jinyoung's shoulder while you waited for desert.

5 Ways to Win a Prince
Word Count: 6,283 words (wtf the longest fic I've written so far)
Warning(s): pining, kissing, light touching, secret romance, fear of rejection/being separated by parental figures, creepy suitor/bad vibes from unnamed side character
Pairing: Prince!Park Jinyoung (GOT7) x Knight!gn!reader
Requested by: @crzy-devil (sorry this took so long!)
Tumblr media
1- Sneak in to Visit
The sun began its slow descent, painting the distant horizon in fire and gold, as though the trees on the mountains had erupted with flames. You watched the colors shift and change as you rested your back against the rough rocks that make up the walls of the castle you’ve sworn to protect.
The metal armor adorning your body kept you warm from the chilling breeze that stirs the trees, making them dance alone within the field below you. The grounds of the castle roll gently downhill into a field and garden away from the balcony you currently rest under. You were always envious of his view, despite the fact you sneak in and are able to enjoy it yourself very often. Thinking of your secret path, you glance one last time at the horizon, deciding that the lowering sun had dimmed enough to allow you to steal away up the side of the wall.
You stand, double-checking that all of your armor and weapons are properly secured to your body before turning to face the wall. The bricks were firmly secured together, but certain bricks were not properly flush or were beginning to chip, giving you perfect foot and handholds to support your travels up its edge. Months of practice had made this climb easier and easier, so now it was no time at all before you were lifting yourself over the balcony railing, slipping down gently onto the marble outcropping that led to the glass doors into the Prince’s room.
Through the doors, you could see a fire gently crackling and flickering within the giant hearth that Jinyoung loved so much. Unsurprisingly, settled deep into one of the chairs encircling the fire, was your prince, his nose pressed into a book, his legs tucked up beneath him as though he could make himself small enough to actually enter the world in which he was engrossed. Just the sight of him brought a bright smile to your face, releasing the tensions of the day full of training and drilling for the protection of the kingdom. Nothing could make all of that pain and stress worth it as much as seeing the man before you.
Slowly, so as not to disturb him, you inch to the door, sliding open the glass doors, and slipping into the room to make your way closer to his gorgeous red and gold armchair that he so favored. Finally, when you placed your hand down on the arm of the chair as though you were making him aware of your presence, he turns his warm brown eyes up to meet your face, a gentle look of surprise parting his pink lips and flushing his detailed cheeks in a way that set your heart aflutter.
“Hello, my prince.” You whisper, leaning down to press a brushing kiss against one rose-tainted cheek. Jinyoung reaches up, fingers snagging behind your head to pull you down for a proper kiss, his lips grazing yours like snow drifting against the wind during the first snow, as though he was teasing you with his presence more than allowing either of you to enjoy it fully.
That was a change that had grown over time; in the beginning, you were both so afraid of not getting time together, not being able to be together, that you would waste no time, pressing together your lips and bodies as close as you could manage, sure you would run out of chances to hold each other that way. However, as time went on, you began to see the ways in which the small, subtle, simple touches and intimacies brought forth sweeter emotions than rushing through and feeling all at once. You were glad now to be able to spend moments like this; barely touching and yet feeling more than anyone else could make you feel, seeing everything the world had to offer and knowing you could take it whenever you wanted, but being secure enough to let it come to you.
You pull away from the man, who tilts his head up as though he’s chasing after you, before he settles back into his chair, lifting the book that he had rested on his lap. He reaches to a nearby table to grab a small bookmark, sliding it between two pages carefully, before setting the book down on the table.
You grab his hands, lifting him from his seat to spin the two of you around and pull him into your lap back into the cushioned chair. He chuckles at your actions, resting a hand against your collarbone as he shifts to find a comfortable position on your armored lap.
“I know these are for keeping you safe and all, but they really could have spent a little extra into making these more comfortable, couldn’t they?” He jokes, flicking the breastplate that separated your bodies from each other.
You laugh along, taking his hand and rubbing your thumb across his knuckles, raising them to press your lips against them as well.
“Well, once you’re king, you have all the power in the world to make that change to our uniform. For now, we must suffer in silence, lest we be found out and whisked apart.” You lean in to whisper the last sentence, letting your breath feather across his ear and neck, sending a shiver down his spine that has him pressing harder against your body.
“I would never let them keep me from you. Come hell or high water, I would never be separated from you – let them try.” This wasn’t the first time he had said similar sentiments, and it brought joy to you hearing it every time. You felt the same way, but to know that your prince would do anything to keep you together – your heart beats wildly at the thought.
You pull Jinyoung down closer to you, though you doubt it’s very possible to do that, and lean your face close to him, your nose brushing his intimately as you look down into his eyes.
“I share your sentiments, Prince. I promise to you, that my oath to you and your family is not only one as a soldier, as a knight, as a guard, but as a lover, as a human, as a simple servant under an idol. My devotion to you will never waver and I will not let anything but death pull me from your side. No matter what else I must give up, no matter who I may have to become or kill, I will be by your side, protecting you and yours, until Lady Death comes to bring me across to the otherworld.”
Jinyoung’s eyes shimmer with tears as he presses his forehead against yours, his hands coming to cup your cheeks.
“And I you, my love.” He whispers, finally press your lips together properly, pulling your bodies as close as possible. He holds you close and you let yourself sink into the sensation of holding the one you swear your life to, letting life carry you where it will.
2- Save Him from Unworthy Suitors
The worst part about being in love with the Prince was that he was destined to be put on dates with others constantly in the hopes of making relations with other kingdoms to keep the country safe from the neighboring lands. Most of the lands got along well enough, so there wasn’t a lot of fighting anyway, but Jinyoung’s parents were always trying to set up the next power couple of the continent.
Many times, you were sent out as a guard for the dates, if they were off castle grounds, which meant that you had to sit and watch while someone tried to woo Jinyoung, only to be met with polite refusal and friendship. Most of those who were on these dates felt the same way and had their own lovers back home in their kingdoms. They played along well as though they enjoyed the date, but it was only out of friendship and political acceptance.
However, on occasion, a date was set up between the young prince and someone who truly wished to catch his fancy. Most were amicable and, while often pushy and intense in trying to prove their worth to Jinyoung, were quick to accept Jinyoung’s refusal at the end of the date.
One day, however, there was a young male suitor who refused to take no for an answer. After one date had gone over without any hassle, Jinyoung had gone to his chambers that night with you and told you that he felt alright about the date, and that nothing would come of it, as per usual. Unfortunately for you both, the young man was infatuated with Jinyoung and had not accepted the refusal after only one shot. He had gone to the Queen after the date and explained in detail how he was sure another date would be enough to win over her son, and the Queen had quickly agreed, growing worried that Jinyoung would end up alone until he became King, which the Queen didn’t want to happen. The Queen wanted only for her son to be happy with a person to cherish him; unaware was she of the person warming her sons bed that very night.
Another date was scheduled and prepared for the two men, and for once, you were not scheduled to chaperon the excursion. That, however, was not going to stop you from riding along with them.
The men were scheduled to ride down a ways through the woods just outside of the castle, to a small lake area to have a picnic. Jinyoung told you about the trip, knowing there was no way he could stop you (not that he wanted to) and it would be easier to hide your spying if you didn’t have to track them too closely.
So on the morning of the day, you waiting until just after the other guards had followed after the prince and his suitor before slipping onto a horse of your own and tracing their path. You knew the way to the lake, as it was a common spot for you and the prince to also run off for little getaways together, making you all the more annoyed that the Queen had planned such a personal trip for the prince, despite his assertion that he had no interest in suitors.
Not long down the pathway through the rustling leaves, wandering along the sunlight dappled trail, you spot the edge of the clearing surrounding the lake, so you pull your horse off the path and hobble it to a tree. You sneak up to the edge of the treeline to look out onto the group setting up a picnic beside the water – blanket and food spread out in the attempt at fashion simply seeing cheesy to your untrained eye. You had spent years in the castle, but you didn’t understand the need to always seem to fancy and rich. It was something Jinyoung claimed to love about you; you didn’t let the glitz, glam, and politics of the castle change who you really were at your core.
You decided to rest yourself on a fallen log, knowing that you would likely be here for a while watching.
However, not long after the picnic had been set out and the food had been eaten, the man had waved off the guards, asking them for privacy between the two. The guards had looked at each other, unsure what to do, but eventually shrugged and wandered off into the treeline, barely missing your seated figure.
You watched closely, eyebrows furrowed at the odd behavior of the young man now reaching his hand out to place it against Jinyoung’s arm. You lean forward in your seat, feeling your body heat as you realize that Jinyoung is fidgeting, looking quite uncomfortable at the situation at hand. Nothing had happened yet, but you knew Jinyoung’s moods better than anyone, and could read the emotions on his face even from yards away. Jinyoung was not happy.
Thinking quickly on your feet, you sneaked back to your horse, untying it from the tree, leading it back onto the road. You slip into the saddle, quickly kicking the horse into a canter to round the final bend and reach the lake on which the men were sitting.
The men both startled, turning to face you as they hear you call out for the Prince, reining your horse in just in time to spray sand against the young man who finally pulls away from Jinyoung to wipe his shirt and face.
“I’m sorry to disturb you, Your Highness, but I must request that you come with me at once. There is an urgent matter back at the castle that requires your immediate attention, and I was instructed to come collect you quickly without any delay. If I might entreat you to climb upon my horse, I can get us back to the castle quickly.” You reach a hand down, doing your best to keep your face straight and serious as Jinyoung looks up at you with bewilderment, which fades quickly into barely hidden amusement.
“Of course, my Champion.” He raises to his feet, moving to take your hand, when he’s grabbed by the man still seated directly behind him, looking at him with confusion and annoyance.
“Why don’t you wait, Your Highness? I will come back with you as soon as we collect the guards and our things.” The young suitor gives a harsh look at you over Jinyoungs shoulder, before tugging on Jinyoung’s arm.
Jinyoung tugs his arm away, a feigned smile resting upon his lips as he steps ever closer to your patiently waiting horse. “No, I’m afraid this sounds much too urgent to wait even an extra moment. I shall see you back within the castle.” He turns without a second of hesitation, taking your arm and using the momentum of your assistance to pull himself onto the horse behind you, as he has done a million times.
He wraps his arms around your waist, burying his face into your back as you canter back the way you came, heading for the castle as though your errand was real. About halfway back to the castle, Jinyoung whispers out a soft “thank you” that you can barely make out against the wind and you relax, letting a hand rest against his fists balled against your stomach.
“Any time, my love.”
3- Flex your Strengths
The only time that you find joy other than being beside Jinyoung is when you’re in the training field. The guards all spent at least a handful of hours a day working in the field, ensuring that they keep their skills sharp and their muscles hard. You worked as a guide to the youth whenever possible; young pupils hoping to be guards and warriors were always trying to prove themselves in the field, but they always need a mentor to help them learn the tricks of the blade.
On warm summer days when there is nothing exciting happening in the castle, you often toil away your hours with a new pupil, a practice sword, and a sparing partner. Today was no exception.
You wiped away a layer of sweat threatening to drip into your eyes and blind you, as you roll out your sword arm. You had just bested yet another guard in a sparing match – you weren’t the most skilled warrior, but you had enough knowledge and skill to make you one of the top guards, tasked with protecting the royal family.
A new challenger steps up to the ring, groups of young and experienced fighters watching excitedly as the new man makes a show of stretching and swinging his sword, as though he could intimidate you into backing down or losing. Instead of bothering to “worry” about his theatrics, you continue shaking and stretching out your body, glancing over the crowd as you do so. You stutter in your stance for only a second as you spot a familiar face a few paces back from the edge of the crowd, a guard you’ve met several times standing beside them with a hand on their sword.
Jinyoung had come to see you practice. He didn’t often do this – he was the anxious one in whatever this was, always afraid of being spotted and questioned by someone who has no business in his. However, you were completely the opposite, ready to speak up about your love the moment he opens himself up to the idea. But here he was, standing with his arms crossed, a beautiful blue top tucked into tight dark trousers, his hair lightly ruffled by the soft wind blowing through the training field. He smiles softly, ducking his head slightly, almost impossible to see, if you weren’t in tune with every small movement of his body.
You smiled back, quickly turning back to your opponent as you both get into a fighting stance, preparing to spar. Both of you were wearing the standard armor and carrying wooden practice swords, but you could tell simply from the way he held himself that your opponent thought he had already won, simply from looking at you.
Obviously a newbie, then.
Someone to the side of the ring calls out the beginning of the match and the two of you begin circling each other, watching the way the other moves.
Seemingly on a whim, the man lunges forward, striking out with his sword. You step back, dodging the attack and sliding to the side, trying to pull the man off balance. He simply backs up, eyeing you and smirking, like he knows something that you don’t. You doubt it, most men who give you that look simply think that you’re afraid and running. No, you’re only bidding your time, looking for your chance to strike.
You circle the man again, watching for that telltale flinch of muscles before he lunges that you noticed last time. Finally you see it, only a millisecond before the man lunches again, this time attempting to rain down strike after strike. Instead, you block and dodge to barrage of blows, twisting and sliding your blade along his, redirecting him away from you every time. You see the beginnings of anger rising in the man; his face twisting slowly into a snarl, his hands tightening around the wooden hilt of the practice sword, his arms trembling from withheld rage. As his anger wells to a final explosion of aggression, he pulled his sword back, feinting a withdrawal before swinging his sword as hard as he could, aiming for your head.
You see this coming, however, and step to the side calmly, raising your sword with both hands to slash it across the mans side, effectively landing a “killing blow” that has the man grasping his side, dropping his sword in the process. You place your blade against the back of his neck, pulling it across it to simulate effecting a definitely killing blow to ensure your “win” in the fight.
The man growls up at you, moving to stand but you have already stepped away, being swept up by the crowd, who pats you on the back, calling out praise to you.
Another guard approaches, handing you a small letter folded up. You open it, seeing a familiar script dancing across the page with only two words written on it.
Visit later.
You glanced up to look around for the man responsible for your short letter, but he had disappeared.
You smiled and tucked the letter into the chestplate of your armor, beside your heart.
Who were you to say no to his request?
4- Show your Love
When you got off of practice that day, you went down to the market to get a small bouquet of flowers. You got his favorite, pink dahlias, which you thought fit him very well. In your kingdom, dahlia’s represented kindness and grace, something that you felt perfectly encapsulated the prince. He was equal parts of princely charm and empathetic sweetness, caring about all that he comes into contact with.
You take the flowers with you up to his room, sneaking through the corridors of the castle, since climbing the wall would surely crush the sweet petals of the fragrant plant you hold close to your body.
Finally making it to the doorway to his chambers, you look both ways before quickly opening the door and ducking inside. Last thing you needed was some random royal to see you slipping into the prince’s room with a bouquet of flowers and a childish grin on your face. Jinyoung wasn’t ready to go public, so you would keep it quiet for now. As long as you still got to be with him.
As you close the door quietly, you turn to find the prince shirtless, his pants being buttoned up by his chambermaid. You smile at the sudden look of surprise on the woman’s face – Jinyoung hadn’t seen you yet because his back was turned, but the woman could see you clearly.
You lift a finger to your lips, signaling her to keep quiet, and she quickly ducks her head back to securing the princes clothes for the afternoon. As she rises to grab the shirt for Jinyoung, you creep forward, wrapping your arms around his middle as you reach him, twirling him into the air.
He yelps, hands coming down to grab your arms, attempting to twist his body to face you. He knows instantly who it is that’s holding him, due to the flowers, the armor, and your familiar scent that has begun to wrap around him, sending his brain into a frenzy.
You can see he’s blushing, from the way his ears are blazing red under his hair and he’s trying to duck his face away from your gaze.
You drop him back onto the ground, letting your hands graze across his bare skin as you pull away, relishing in the way he shivers at your touch before he’s whipping around to face you.
“You scared the living daylights out of me.” He’s pouting, his eyebrows furrowed and nose scrunched up, but you could see the slight twitch in his lips fighting to smile.
“You really should be more on your toes. I could have been anyone coming in here. You should never let your guard down, my prince. It could put you in danger.” You lean in as you talk, ghosting your nose over his, causing him to tilt his head up, searching your lips. You pull back before he can make contact and now he’s pouting for real.
“If you weren’t such a menace, my chambermaid here would have at least given a scream of warning if it were anyone of danger. Unfortunately, she seems to like you a little more than she likes me.” He rolls his eyes, sending a playful wink back at the chambermaid who has her face half hidden behind her hand, holding the shirt in the other.
“Nonsense, no one could ever be immune to your boyish charms.” You press a kiss to the mans temple before holding out the flowers for him to see. “Even my measly pay gets wasted away on flowers for you, who needs for nothing, simply so that I can see that beautiful smile you grant me.” Said smile is already splitting his face into pure joy at seeing the circular globes of pink sprouting from your fist. He bends down to give the flowers a deep scent, pulling back with eyes closed and face softened with joy.
“No one knows exactly what I need quite like you, my dearest protector.” He jokes, turning back to the chambermaid so she can slip his shirt on, hiding his golden skin and gentle curves with a linen top of off-white cloth that looks insanely soft and comfortable.
After she secures the fabric to his body, she bows, grabs his day-clothes that need washing, and scampers from the room. She wasn’t likely to say anything – she’s the only one in the castle who knows about your relationship and has been aware of it for two years now. She had walked in on you two cuddling after you had accidentally fallen asleep one late night; she had been sworn to secrecy and had proven tight-lipped since.
You hand the flowers over to your lover before grabbing his hands, pulling him lightly over towards his bed, curtains pulled back to allow in the failing light of the evening through the windows to shine across the silken sheets you two had spent many nights entangled in together.
“What has gotten into you today, my love?” Jinyoung asks, following along pliantly, always willing to follow your lead and whims. He so rarely was able to let go, trust another, and go with the flow – only when he was with you was he able to let down his guard and truly feel.
“Nothing in particular, my prince, only my love for you.” You settle onto the edge of the bed, pulling him to stand between your legs, wrapping your arms around his waist to hold him close. He drapes his arms over your shoulders, looking down at where you sit before him with a look like sheer reverence across his features.
“I should continue to fan that fire if it leads to moments like this.” He whispers, leaning forward to press a kiss against your lips. You hold him close, relishing in the feeling of his lips pressed to yours, his tongue flicking against your own, his hands running up and down your shoulders and back, as though he couldn’t get enough of touching you.
“I would not complain.” You whisper back when he finally pulls away, a look of thought and concentration passing behind his eyes. “What is on your mind, my prince? I can see that something is troubling you.”
Jinyoung only shakes his head, smiling down at you with love and care.
“Nothing is troubling me, my love. It is only that, I have recently been thinking about how we keep our love a secret. I know that I have said that I do not wish for them to take you from me, while I still only have the power of a prince. However, the many times in which my mother tries to push me into new courtships is growing, and she has expressed fear that I will not be wed before taking the throne. I know that day is many moons off, but I begin to wonder whether it isn’t time that we finally tell the world about our love.” His face begins to glow with the idea, his voice rising with each word as though breathing life into the idea has sparked a flame that will not flicker, fed a stream that will not stop raging.
You reach a hand up, cradling his cheek as you grin back up at the prince. You had voiced several times your undying love for him, and him back to you, but you had resolved to spend many more days hidden away, sneaking your love, until he was king and no one could stop the two of you.
You had believed that his mother would be understanding – she had tried so many times to find a suitor for her son that you were sure she would be happy with nearly anyone that her son had picked to carry his heart. Jinyoung, on the other hand, was skeptical and afraid, after hearing the many mean things that other royals had said about other royals who had married or paired up “below their rank”.
To finally hear Jinyoung say that he was ready to tell the world, haters be damned, had your heart soaring out of your chest, feeling as though you couldn’t breathe with the happiness coursing through your veins.
You pull Jinyoung down on top of you, peppering his face with kisses, almost definitely crushing the beautiful flowers that you had bought earlier in the day. Nothing else mattered than being close to the prince now, showing him exactly how much his words and feelings meant to you. You knew that some part of him was already aware of your passion for him – you had shared it plenty of times in a number of ways, but you needed to reaffirm it now, in the light of the future of your relationship.
Nothing could stop you two now.
5- Tell the World
Days later, you followed Jinyoung into the throne room where his parents are seated on their respective thrones. You had interacted with both the King and Queen in the past, but not in this capacity and not when you were about to convince them into letting you have their sons hand in marriage.
Jinyoung stops before the dais on which they’re sitting and you stop beside him, kneeling and bowing to them before standing straight. You would show deference, but not weakness.
Jinyoung smiled up at his parents, who both smiled back down at their son. They truly loved him; there wasn’t anything they wouldn’t do for him. You had no doubt that they would grant his wish, if he truly meant what he said.
He takes a deep breath before reaching his hand out to grasp yours. You freeze, waiting for him to explain to his parents why you were both standing before them today.
“Mom, Dad, I know that you’ve both been working very hard to find me a suitor from one of the four kingdoms who is worthy of my heart. I don’t doubt that you have worked tirelessly and did your best work to find people who are really suitable for me and who would make amazing additions to our kingdom, as they would rule beside me. However, unfortunately, the person who won and deserves my heart was in our kingdom this entire time.” He tilts his head to smile at you, his hand gripping yours tightly as if to say he would never let go. “I know that a prince and a guard sounds impossible, and I know many other Kings and Queens would never let their son marry a guard, who many deem as below us. Unlike those men and women, I know that our kingdom values all life, all people, regardless of status and blood. As long as a person is good and kind, is loving and caring, shows strength and courage, defends what they believe in and does not waver in the face of adversity or temptation, that they are worthy of the best that life has to offer. I have met no other who fits those tenants in the way that (y/n) does. They have proven loyal and kind, shown mercy and strength, done all they can to protect their loved ones while never giving up on their own beliefs. They are the only person fit to rule beside me over this kingdom when I one day ascent the throne.”
Your eyes mist over at the heavy praise you’re receiving from the love of your life. Jinyoung was always ready to share with you how much you meant to him, but you had never heard him share such sentiments to anyone else – it was nice to hear when you were alone, but something else entirely when he was telling his parents and the court guards all about his feelings. You could see his mother dab at her eyes, tearing up just as you expected her to; she truly loved and wanted the best for her son.
The one you couldn’t read was the King. He was sitting, looking over the two of you with a neutral face, as though he hadn’t heard anything that the Prince had just said. He leans forward in his seat, resting his elbows against his knees and entwining his fingers together. He hums softly, a low rumble in the otherwise quiet room, as though he’s thinking or warming up his voice for whatever he’s about to say.
The Queen is looking over at the King now, a smile on her face, as though she knows something you don’t which relaxes your shoulders just the slightest bit. If the Queen wasn’t worried, why should you be?
As though your thought sparked something in the King, he looks over at you, reaching a hand out to gesture in your direction as he finally speaks. “So, what do you have to say to all this, my knight?”
You take a deep breath, glancing over at Jinyoung, who is looking at you with those eyes that you had fallen in love with many moons again, and which always seemed to bring you to your knees before him, time and again.
“I have been raised within the walls of this kingdom, under the rule of you both, and under that philosophy and expectations that comes from this society. I have raised through the ranks to prove my worth as a guard to the royal family, to protecting those values and the people of this kingdom with my life. I have spent countless hours training to be the best person I can be, for myself, for my kingdom, for my King, but most importantly, for my Prince, who I have sworn my life to – both out loud and in my heart a million times over. I cannot swear that I have reached the point to claim those same things about myself that Jinyoung sees within me. However, I continue to try everyday to prove him right and to be worthy of him by my side. I don’t presume to be in a place to tell you how to react to our love for each other. I don’t wish to sway you by telling you lies or pressuring you with threats, or any of the things that would instantly lose me the right to stand here before you asking for Jinyoung’s hand. However, I know that you are a fair king. You look to your people to hear their stories and learn their worries, and you care about what will bring true joy back into the kingdom. I stand here today to tell you that nothing would make us happier than to be together, to have each other truly and completely, in the way that we love each other.”
You bow down after finishing your speech, showing that despite all of the things you said, you would respect whatever he ruled in this matter. It would break you to have to turn away from your Prince, but if the King truly believed it would be in his better interest not to wed you, to keep your love a secret, you would continue to spend your days hiding away, stealing glances and touches whenever the chance arose. You would not, however, let him truly be pulled from your grasp.
As you waited to hear the answer of the king, you could feel your heart beating within your chest, pounding against your rib cage as though it wished to fly back to Jinyoung, its true owner. The blood rushed in your ears and you could feel every fiber of your body thrumming with adrenaline and anticipation, knowing your whole world could crash down around you any moment.
Finally the king cleared his throat and you raised your eyes back to the graying man before you, who has a smile creasing his face which has your knees nearly dropping out from under you.
“If my son truly wishes to wed you and he has brought forth the courage to proclaim it before the courts, I see no reason to deny him the joys of love on the basis of something as trivial as status. You have proven strong in mind and body as a royal guard for many years, and the ways in which my son speaks about you shows that you continue to practice these tenets outside of the guard uniform and has me believing that you may be more worthy of the title of the Princes partner than any of the others we have brought here to woo him. I will give you my permission to court each other. Preparations can begin being made to plan the wedding to bind you two together.”
The Queen squeals with joy, leaping from her throne on the dais to raise down to her son, sweeping him into a hug. She presses kisses against his temple, stroking his hair, almost as though he was still a child that she found adorable, rather than a grown man who had just been sworn to wed. She turns to you next, pulling you into an equally strong hug, patting your back and whispering how truly happy she was and how thankful she was to have someone who could show her son the respect and love she knew he deserved.
Tears were shedding down her face, and matching ones traced down the Prince’s as he looked at you over his mother’s shoulder. He mouthed three words to you which had your throat closing up as well, your hands fisting into the queen’s dress as you try to hold back your own emotions.
You had finally won over the Prince, convinced the King and Queen to let you two be together, as you were meant to be. You had been so sure that fate would play out this way, two soulmates finding each other amongst perceived turmoil, but you still couldn’t believe that life had gone so well. You were in love with Prince Jinyoung and you swore to yourself that everyday from this day forward you would do anything to be the guard who deserved to marry the Prince.
And you never broke an oath.

Every Damn Time
Pairing: Park Jinyoung x female reader
Genre: emotional angst-fluff
Tropes: established relationship
Warnings: mentioning of declining health of side character, main protagonist is expressing their fears over it.
Word count: 659
Author’s Note: I wrote this back in January, when this situation happened to calm myself down from the fright of it all. Naturally, this piece is a little personal.
Tumblr media
Jinyoung barely had a moment to react, and yet he did so instinctively. Catching you before you knocked both of you to the ground, he went to laugh and asked why you were so greedy for his embrace, only to stop himself when he felt your body shudder.
Instantly, he was on red alert. “Y/N, what’s wrong?”
“Need you,” came out with a choked sob, and Jinyoung rearranged his hold on you.
He pulled you firmly against him, caging your shaking body so you felt protected and safe. And that was enough to unleash your emotions. It killed him to have no clue why you had entered his home and ran to him like this. He wanted to rage in your honour, ask who did this to you, uncover every little detail so he could put together a plan. So he could be the one to solve this and never let it make you break like this again.
But as he continued to hold you, rocking your body and letting out soothing noises, his mind came down from the height it had gone to.
Jinyoung had been working late yesterday and into the early hours of today, which wasn’t unusual for him, and he had almost sent you a message out of habit but realised the time was late. He remembered frowning when he had seen your last active time stamp to be after one am, yet he considered you probably had struggled to sleep and then fallen into slumber eventually.
But now he wasn’t so sure. What had kept you up so late into the night? He had his suspicions, and you finally confirmed them a moment later. “She fell.”
“How?”
“I’m not sure. I was in bed and woke to a loud bang. I thought it was one of the cats and went to check, but the TV had crashed into the wall and she was completely dazed,” you said quietly, not objecting when Jinyoung gently led you to the couch and pressed you down until you sat before he crouched down in front of you.
“She’s completely fine, well, a few bruises are going to come up, but I was just so scared. I keep having these moments where I get complacent with Mum’s illness and then she declines and something like this happens and I just—” Tears welled in your eyes and he reached forward to brush them aside, your watery gaze connecting with his. “It’s only going to get worse.”
“With time. Your mother has plenty of time still.”
“I feel like I’m going out of my mind. I could barely sleep worrying something would happen as she rested. I’ve made plans to move my things out to the study nook so I can be right there if she needs me. I’m going to have to monitor her closely. It all feels so overwhelming.”
“You should have rung me. I would have come over immediately. “
You sighed, nodding softly. “I wanted you there.”
“You needed me,” he corrected, and you nodded a second time.
“I always need you. I worry the strain I’m holding will end up breaking you when I lean on you.”
Slapping a shoulder, Jinyoung cracked a grin. “Why do you think I built these up?”
It delighted him when a small, exasperated smile curled up your lips. “You fool.”
“You need me at any time of the day or night, and you know I’ll be there.”
“Really?”
“What are boyfriends for if they can’t promise that?”
“To look pretty and carry heavy things?” You pretended to ponder, and Jinyoung tsked loudly before reaching for your hands, rubbing the coolness out of them.
“I don’t ever want to let you stress to the point of crashing into me like that again. But if it does happen, I’ll catch you, okay?”
“You’ll catch me?” you repeated, eyes wide with emotion.
His throat felt tight as he nodded. “Every damn time.”

Beautiful Thing | 08
Tumblr media
Pairing: Yugyeom x Reader, Future GOT7 x Reader Genre: Fluff, Angst, Soulmate AU, Poly AU, Enemies to Lovers AU Rating: T (explicit language) Summary: Yugyeom finds himself at odds with BamBam when he tries to be kind and friendly to you. Word Count: 4.0k Warnings: None?

Tumblr media
Yugyeom felt like he was going to vomit. The butterflies in his stomach wouldn't settle down. His skin had been buzzing since he hugged you at the hotel. He'd tried to tell himself that he was just excited because the situation was new, something he'd never experienced before. However, in the back of his mind, he knew the truth. It was all about you. You were the anomaly.
The group filed onto the smaller private airplane, a courtesy given by the SeoulMate company given the unique situation. It was nicer than he'd expected and a bit more luxurious than the ones he'd traveled in before. Perfect for your first flight with them. With him. You brought up the rear, dragging your small carry-on bag behind you like a dead body. Your lips were curved in the cutest pout he'd ever seen and discontent rolled off you in waves. He slowed his pace until he got to your side.
"Would you like to sit beside me?" He gave you a shy smile. "I'm pretty sure Jackson's gonna sit with us."
BamBam overheard the question and turned around. "What? You usually sit with me."
'Oh...' Yugyeom's eyes widened, and he shrugged a shoulder. "If you can convince Jackson to sit elsewhere...It's her first flight and I wanna keep her company. It's just one time, bro." BamBam's eyes darted to you and narrowed before he turned back around, increasing his pace to disappear among the staff.
"Oh, great. The drama queen's mad at me, too." You sighed loudly and rolled your eyes. When you looked up at Yugyeom, the butterflies went nuts. "You don't have to sacrifice your bromance for me. I'll be just fine. It isn't like I didn't agree with this."
He patted the top of your head with a smile. "He'll get over it. I think a three-hour plane flight is a great time to get to know you. After all, you're a person, not an inconvenience."
Your breath caught for a second, and your mood visibly brightened at his words. "Thank you. It's nice to hear that after all the glares Jinyoung's throwing at me."
"No one's glaring," Jinyoung muttered as he squeezed by and settled into a window seat.
Yugyeom directed you to a window seat on the opposite side of the plane, but you shook your head. "No thanks. I don't need a visual reminder of the impossible physics of this death box."
"Can you please not call it that while I'm in it? Thanks." Mark interjected without looking up from his phone.
"What else should I call it?" You fired back.
"How about 'majestic vessel of life' or something? Anything but that."
"Oh okay. This 'fanciful fucking unicorn' then."
"Language!" Jaebeom called out from somewhere. Yugyeom couldn't help but notice how comfortable you were with bickering with them. Did you even notice it? Though he wished it interactions weren't negative, you fit right in.
"Oh, fuck off." You mumbled under your breath and dropped into the middle seat.
Yugyeom spotting Jackson making his way down the aisle, eyes set on you. He smiled and stood up. You whined as he practically smothered you as he pushed his way to the vacant window seat, crushing you into the seat before letting up. He couldn't help but smile as you blinked owlishly at Jackson as he busied himself with digging around in his bag. "I brought extra stuff in case you need anything." He dropped a water bottle into your hands and put a travel pillow around your neck.
"Jackson, wait—"
Yugyeom filled the seat next to you, looking around to see if the group had all found a seat with his hand out to Jackson. Without being asked, Jackson gave him a water bottle, too.
As usual, Jackson turned into a mother hen with his attention devoted solely to you. It was a refreshing change from being on the receiving end. "The bathroom's in the back, but I'll walk with you if you're uncomfortable walking on your own."
"I know I said this was my first flight, but really, you don't have to go through this much trouble."
He paused and looked you in the eyes. "It isn't any trouble. If anything, it's a pleasure." His face lit up with a wide grin. "I'm doing something useful for you, right? You don't mind, do you?"
Your shoulders drooped in defeat and Yugyeom bit back a chuckle. No one was immune to Jackson's charm. "Yes, this is fine. Thank you, Jackson." You smiled at him. "It means a lot that you care."
A Christmas tree would fail to compare to the light he gave off upon hearing your words. He meant well. Everyone knew that. It'd take patience and reassurance to break him out of his habit of seeking validation. Though they as a group had become accustomed to it, Yugyeom found himself hoping you'd stick around long enough to help them out.
It wasn't long before the pilot came on with his greeting and itinerary with the stewards and stewardesses shooing away electronics and making sure everyone was buckled in properly. Jackson gently took your hand and held it while they explained the standard emergency procedures. You didn't realize you were manhandling the armrest and gritting your teeth.
"It'll be okay. I promise," he whispered, raising your hand to his lips and pressing a soft kiss to your knuckles. Why hadn't Yugyeom thought to do that? "I won't let anything happen to you."
"You can't possibly keep a promise like that." You said flatly. Yugyeom's fingertips grazed your knee a few times before you realized he was itching to hold your other hand. Without thinking, you grabbed his hand and squeezed it when the plane shook and began edging forward down the runway.
"I can!" Jackson said indignantly. "I can swim—"
"We're not going over water." You and Yugyeom said in unison. A tingle sparked between your palms but you didn't show any signs of having felt it too.
"I've been skydiving—"
"You're afraid of heights." You and Yugyeom answered together. Yugyeom glanced at you but your eyes were on Jackson. Did you even hear him?
"Okay, but I'd die to protect you!"
"Jackson," you put your hand on his knee, "It's okay. You don't have to try so hard for me."
"But I want to." He spoke softly with a slight pout.
"Honestly, that you even want to is more than enough for me." It was just enough to cheer him up again. Yugyeom noticed Jaebeom watching, eyebrows creased with concern. When you continued to speak, Yugyeom turned back to you. "But make sure you care about yourself just as much, okay? I mean it."
Jackson nodded, cheeks flushing with color as he looked down at your clasped hands. "Okay."
Soon enough, the plane was in the air and Dallas became a cluster of dots on the ground. You visibly relaxed into your seat as Jackson rubbed the back of your hand with his thumb. Yugyeom wanted to do something like that, but he wasn't sure you'd allow it. You hadn't known him as long or as well as you did Jackson. The monitor in the seat in front of him flickered between advertisements and a thought struck him.
"Hey, we can watch a movie to pass the time." He nudged your shoulder with his. "What kind of movies do you like?"
You looked at him before your eyes went upward. "I'm not too picky, really. Though maybe we could save the scary stuff for later?" When your gaze returned to his, another tingle blossomed over his skin.
"I can work with that." He smiled before touching the screen. A few swipes later and logo music began to play.
The flight was relatively smooth, with only a few patches of turbulence along the way. You leaned against him the entire time, still holding Jackson's hand, eyes glued on the screen. At some point a stewardess came along with food and he found himself sharing popcorn with you. He thought of Jackson's time alone with you and realized that despite you both being surrounded by others, you were still in your own little bubble. Not quite as intimate as sharing a full meal, but basically a movie date. He'd told himself he'd just be friendly, make you feel as welcome as he could. Yet, he couldn't deny the sparks whenever your skin brushed against his. Couldn't stop his thoughts from embracing the idea of you being his soulmate. By the end of the movie, you were dozing off, using Yugyeom's shoulder as a makeshift pillow. He didn't mind one bit.
He entertained himself with sending memes to BamBam, ignoring the fact that he was left on read. He could understand his closest friend's annoyance but he had to admit he was having the time of his life. He'd beg for forgiveness later if needed. Right now, he wanted to enjoy the moment and commit it to memory. When you woke up from your nap, the plane was beginning its descent. You looked out the window and saw the glittering buildings below, signaling your arrival at your destination.
As the plane touched down and taxied to the gate, you and Jackson clasped hands tightly, your eyes closed as if that would make the descent any smoother. Yugyeom found himself humming a song and seized the moment to hold your other hand, mirroring Jackson's calming caress with his thumb. He was more than pleased with himself when you seemingly melted against his arm again, eyes still shut.
"Oh, god tell me when its over." You muttered and he liked that you sought him out for comfort.
As soon as the seatbelt sign turned off, everyone began standing up to gather their belongings from the overhead bins.
"See? We made it!" Jackson exclaimed with a triumphant grin as he unbuckled his seatbelt. You let out a sigh of relief and opened your eyes, returning his smile. "Yeah, we did. This time, at least."
Yugyeom leaned in and caught your gaze. "Are you okay?"
You nodded, feeling shaky but trying to hide it. "Yeah, I'm fine." You attempted to stand up and grab your bag from the overhead compartment but stumbled when the plane jerked suddenly.
"Whoa there," Jackson caught you before you could fall. "Maybe we should wait for everyone else to get off first."
You nodded gratefully and sat back down. BamBam shuffled off the plane with the others, pointedly ignoring Yugyeom. When the plane was finally empty, you stood up again and grabbed your bag without any problems this time.
Yugyeom nodded in agreement before looking at his phone. "Our luggage should be at baggage claim already."
"That's quick," you said as you followed them out of the plane and towards baggage claim. Soon enough, all three of you were standing in front of a carousel waiting for your luggage to come around.
When you spotted your suitcase and stepped away to grab it, Jackson leaned in and whispered, "Are you and Bam gonna be okay? I don't think I've ever seen him this pissed at you of all people."
Yugyeom shrugged. "He can't be mad forever. And I guess it's new for him. He's never had to share my attention with anyone like this before."
"Yeah, he can be pretty childish sometimes." Jackson nodded.
Yugyeom chuckled as you struggled to free your luggage from the moving belt. They both took a step forward to help you but Jaebeom made it to your side first. "He'll be okay. Just needs time to calm down. In the meantime," he tilted his head to the side, eyes still on you, "we can make sure she's having fun."
Tumblr media
"Here, let me get that." Jaebeom reached over your shoulder, startling you in the process. As you moved aside for him, he caught a whiff of your perfume, something light and sweet. He grabbed the handle of your suitcase and yanked it off the belt.
"Thank you..." You frowned and it took him a second to realize why.
"Just call me Jay." He set the luggage down and pulled up the handle. The frown went away instantly. "I don't mind."
You fiddled with the suitcase, unable to look at him. "You sure? I don't want to disrespect you or anything in front of the others."
He shrugged and fought a smile as he slipped his hands in his pockets. "Its not like those brats care."
You smirked. "I know, I just...It's not the same is it? I'm not one of them. That and I don't wanna add to your stress if I can help it."
He found himself smiling, touched that you cared about his wellbeing. "As long as you're traveling with us, I'll treat you no differently from them." He gently bumped you with his elbow. "Just say no to Yugyeom and his stupid pranks."
"They're not stupid! As long as you have a sense of humor, they're fun!" Yugyeom pulled you away. "Don't listen to him. He's old and boring."
With a strike like lightning, Jaebeom grabbed the back of Yugyeom's neck and squeezed. "Say that again."
Soon enough everyone's baggage was found and loaded onto the shuttles going to the hotel. Due to the size of the group, they had to split up. Once again, Yugyeom and Jackson insisted on riding with you. Jaebeom caught the nasty look BamBam gave you and he was grateful that Jackson didn't see it. He didn't feel like mediating another argument so soon after the one between him and Jinyoung. The animosity was understandable to a degree. You were an outsider to most of them, and trust was a hard thing to earn in their world. However, since he'd shaken your hand he was beginning to see that Jackson had a point. People with bad intentions give off bad vibes. Ones that, as far as he could tell, you didn't have.
He told himself he'd reserve judgment until later when enough time had passed, but that handshake seemed to change something in him. Cool static had rippled throughout his body when your warm, dainty hand filled his. It'd taken every ounce of control he had to force himself to let go. Holding your hand felt right, as natural as breathing or singing.
And he could see he wasn't the only one affected. Even now you were sandwiched between Jackson and Yugyeom, discussing the things to do in Las Vegas with Jackson holding your hand and Yugyeom's arm around your shoulders. One would never guess you hadn't known them longer than a few days.
He was a romantic at heart. It was hard to say which side he took in this as he'd always imagined having a soulmate of his own. Someone meant just for him, one he didn't have to share with the others like he did everything else in his life. Was that selfish?
Thoughts like that wouldn't help him here and now. When the vans stopped outside their hotel, he remembered the brief phone call he'd had with JYP. Taejoon had predictably snitched on him, stressing that the decision to bring you along was Jaebeom's doing. As a result, any expenses that you occurred were coming out of Jaebeom's pocket. He was lucky he made a decent amount of money from royalties otherwise he'd have trouble booking and paying for your room. The need to keep it a secret from the guys wasn't entirely unfounded. He could see Jinyoung throwing a hissy fit and possibly making you feel like you needed to pitch in. For the sake of peace, it'd be his little secret.
"Here you go," he smiled handing you the key cards to your suite. "It's on the floor below us. Hopefully we won't bother you."
"Thanks—" Your fingers touched his and that soothing ripple of calmness washed over him again. "Don't worry. I've dealt with way worse than this chaos. It's almost like a mini vacation at this point."
Jackson materialized at your side, peering over your shoulder. "Is it a double? Can I room with you if it's a double?"
Jaebeom pushed him away with a hand covering his face. "Don't be eager or weird. She gets a room to herself. She'll be able to sleep in and go down to breakfast."
Jackson pushed his hand away. "But what if she gets lonely? We can't leave her here by herself."
You rubbed his arm with a look of concern Jaebeom was sure couldn't be copied by even the best actresses in the world. "I don't mind. I can't begin to imagine how busy you guys will be. I'd only slow you down and I don't wanna hear Jinyoung's mouth."
Jinyoung scoffed as he pushed by, heading for the elevators. "Wouldn't have to worry about it if you weren't here."
Three things happened simultaneously. Jackson opened his mouth to fire back as Jaebeom turned to tell Jinyoung to be nice. Yet, you beat them both to the punch by speaking up with a forced smile. "Jackson, would you like to see what my room looks like? You can walk me through the hotel room check you were telling me about on the plane."
Your sweet smile and gentle pull on Jackson's arm sucked the tension away in an instant. Jackson turned his attention back to you, eyes alight with his eagerness. "Of course!"
It was weird to have someone else be the voice of peace. The two of you started toward the elevators and Yugyeom joined, pointing at a brochure he'd picked up. BamBam and Mark joined Jinyoung leaving you three to wait for another one to come back down. Jaebeom adjusted his backpack and joined the queue. He hated that what was supposed to be a simple promotion with fanmeets was slowly dividing the group in two. Hopefully, once it was all said and done, their personal relationships would still be intact.
Tumblr media
After an intense game of rock-paper-scissors, Jaebeom and Jackson ended up sharing a room for the duration of their stay. It was the first time since they landed in America that they'd had this much time together. Jackson wanted to sneak down to your room to stay up and talk but Jaebeom wasn't having it.
"Absolutely not."
Jackson flopped down on his bed with a disappointed frown. "Come on, Jaebeom. It's just a little fun. Besides, it's not like I'm asking to sneak out of the hotel."
Jaebeom sat on the edge of his bed, phone in hand as he scrolled through the schedule for the next few days. He sighed without looking up. "It's not about having fun, Jackson. We need to be careful about how we handle things with her here."
"But she isn't like other people we've met. She's different," Jackson insisted, his voice laced with a sincerity that made Jaebeom pause. There was something different about you, something that made everyone act a bit out of character.
"Different or not," Jaebeom finally said, locking his phone and meeting Jackson's gaze. "We have to maintain some professionalism. We can't set precedents that we might regret later."
Jackson rolled onto his side, propping his head up with his hand. "You like her, don't you?"
The question was abrupt, and Jaebeom felt a defensive wall go up instinctively. "What does that have to do with anything?"
"Everything," Jackson shot back softly. "Because if you have feelings for her—even purely platonic ones—then it makes sense why you're being extra cautious. You care."
Jaebeom rubbed his temples, feeling the onset of a headache. "I just met her, Jackson."
"Love at first sight is a thing, y'know. There's nothing wrong with trusting your gut and just going with it."
He sighed deeply, hating that he had to be the one to burst Jackson's bubble. "You say that a lot don't you? Throw yourself all in for anyone who catches your eye and shows you the tiniest bit of attention and care just for, what, it all to fall apart? Love at first sight seems to leave you alone and heartbroken too often, doesn't it?"
Jackson went silent, the easy smile fading from his face as Jaebeom's words settled over him like a heavy blanket. For a moment, the room was thick with unspoken thoughts and regrets, punctuated only by the distant hum of Las Vegas beyond their window.
Finally, Jackson let out a deep breath and sat up, swinging his legs off the bed to face Jaebeom more directly. "Maybe you're right," he admitted quietly, "but every time it feels real, feels like it could be the thing that changes everything. Isn't it worth the risk?"
Jaebeom didn't answer immediately. He knew Jackson's heart was in the right place. It always was. But as their leader, it was his job to think about the consequences, to protect not just his own heart but also those of his bandmates—and now, seemingly, yours.
"Perhaps," he finally conceded, "but remember we have our responsibilities. We're here for work first." He glanced up at Jackson, noting the genuine confusion in his eyes. "Let's try to keep things simple and not complicate matters further."
Jackson nodded slowly, though his disappointment was palpable. He lay back down, staring at the ceiling. "Alright, Jaebeom. I'll keep my distance. For now."
Jaebeom felt a twinge of guilt watching Jackson's enthusiasm dim—a brightness that was rare in the often grueling routine of their industry—but he knew boundaries were essential, especially with so much at stake professionally.

Was it bad that Yugyeom wasn’t as bothered by the tears as he used to be? Now that they’d been given dummy devices to wear to keep up the ruse of “searching” he thought he’d feel even worse about lying to their fans. They truly believed they had a chance with pairing with a member of the group. It was wrong, immoral.
Yet when he filed backstage with the others, he couldn’t help but smiling when he saw you tucked away in a corner with a notebook in your lap. As everyone began to change and found a stylist, he found himself wandering over to you.
“Hey there.” He plopped down in the chair next to you and you jumped.
“Oh, jeez!” You put the hand holding the pen over your heart. After a quick glance around the room your gaze found his. “It’s over already?”

"Oh, jeez!" You put the hand holding the pen over your heart. After a quick glance around the room, your gaze found his. "It's over already?"
"It's been two hours. Have you been writing this entire time?" He leaned closer to see your notepad but you quickly hid it against your chest. "Oh, come on. It can't be that bad. May I see, please?"
You hesitated, biting your lip as you considered his request, then slowly lowered the notebook. "Only because it's you," you said with a half-smile, handing it over. "Tell no one that I let you do this."
Yugyeom's eyes lit up as he gently took the notebook from your hands. His gaze flicked across your neatly scribbled words, a mixture of excitement and curious respect etching across his features. As he read, his expression softened, and occasionally, a chuckle escaped him.
"Is this about my dandelion tattoo?"
You shrugged shyly. "I noticed it when we were on the plane. I couldn't stop thinking about it so...I put it in words."
"This is really pretty." Yugyeom said sincerely, looking up at you with admiration. "The way you describe it makes me even happier that I got it. And this part," he pointed to a line in the middle of the page, "where you talk about how music can be a person's dandelion—it's beautiful."
Flattered by his compliments, he watched as your cheeks deepened in color as you fought the smile. "Thank you, Yugyeom. That means a lot coming from you."
He nodded and handed back the notebook. "You should keep writing. Who knows? Maybe one day you'll write a song for us."
The idea made you laugh softly, the sound mingling with the constant buzz of activity around you. "Oh sure. Maybe I will," you agreed playfully.
Yugyeom stood up just as one of the staff members called him over. Before he left, he turned to face you again. "Don't forget us when you become a famous writer," he joked with a wink.
"I won't," you promised, watching him walk away before turning back to your poetry.

pjy x female reader word count: 1.4k genre: fluff, married life, domestic life, slice of life, christmas time, surprise gift, meet the family warnings: if you happen to speak another language rather than English, you might feel things. jinyoung learns a new language to surprise his wife. mature content: no. a/n: nobody ever told me the hardships of being an adult with tons of job responsibilities (and how to be financially responsible). a lot has happened, still a lot of fics of all lenghts on the works that i do promise that will be uploaded sooner or later (most likely later, BUT WILL BE UPLOADED I SWEAR !!). i'll place another author's note at the end of the one shot so you can know what jinyoung (and he family) said. enjoy!!! MASTERPOST.
summary: it's christmas time, and also the first time jinyoung gets to meet your whole family who doesn't speak English nor Korean, something that makes you uneasy until you see how well jinyoung gets along with everybody.
Life has its strange ways and turns, one day you’re saying goodbye to your family without knowing when or if you would ever cross paths again, and the other your in-laws are driving you and your husband to the airport so you both can go and visit your family, which you hadn’t seen since your wedding almost a year ago.
After a final hug and well-intended see you soons, you walked to the ariport’s waiting room. This flight was long, longer than most international flights. However, it did excite you to know that you will be spending Christmas and New Year in your country. These two next weeks would be the most time he will be spending there, and you knew undoubtedly that he was also very excited.
“I swear they won’t mean anything bad, they’re just a bit handful,” you warned him. He has spent time with your family  yes, but never this much time, neither outside of his country nor your mom and dad’s sides fully. Often being just your mom or dad, or both. Sometimes you could even add your sister to the equation. He smiled, “I think I can manage,” kissing your temple, you allowed yourself to relax into his embrace, waiting for your flight to be announced.
The way he handled your youngest cousins and baby nephews and nieces made you giddy. You have had the talk, and he never actually pushed you into getting pregnant—something you were most grateful for—however, the baby fever you were facing at the moment was getting out of control. Your cheeks were hurting from smiling that much, even your mom had playfully elbowed you, which you answered playing dumb.
Jinyoung had not made anything that could have made you think he was uncomfortable nor struggling communicating. Your relationship struggled at the beginning as you weren’t fluent in Korean and even though his English was really good, he had to make an effort so you could communicate without having to pressure you into learning Korean faster, meaning that now both of you were fluent in both languages.
Either way, you knowing English didn’t mean that your family knew English too. Your sister and cousins, sure. But your parents, uncles and aunts struggled with that as it wasn’t commonly thought when they were studying. You were glad that Jinyoung could communicate with some of your family and that they could help him and the eldest part of the family to comprehend the other and be able to have a conversation.
Your dad was now deep in conversation with your husband and uncles, making him part of the “male circle” as you often identified them as. You knew that your dad had been trying to learn both English and Korean, as well as your mom, so he could have a somewhat easy conversation with Jinyoung, something that made your heart warm, as he had never made such an effort before.
After dinner, it was time to open the Christmas gifts, making everyone reunite around the living room to start the exchange. The whole dynamic was amazing and wholesome. The kids were embellished by Jinyoung—to no one’s surprise, really—. He had every single member of your family just as wrapped around his finger as you.
The evening continued as the kids were playing with their respective gifts and the older generations were chatting while sipping a festive drink. You really tried to engage in the conversation, but Jinyoung drawing circles on your thigh with his thumb was making you sleepy. He noticed and placed a kiss on your hair.
“Do you want to go?” he asked, knowing that you were beyond tired.
Before agreeing on taking this vacation with your family, you had to finish a long to-do list. Even when you had bought the plane tickets you weren’t entirely sure that you could make it all the way here. The company you worked for had a few last-minute things to fix, and Jinyoung’s schedule suddenly had another two filming days to complete. To this day you still have no idea how you both managed to come.
You denied with your head, you were far too happy being here no matter how tired you were, “it’s ok, I can handle another hour” you whispered to his ear, “and they offered us a room here, we don’t have to go back to the hotel today.”
Jinyoung nodded and pulled you closer to him.
After spending a few days with your mom’s side of the family, you went back to your childhood town to spend New Year’s with your dad’s side of the family.
His family could be a bigger communication challenge than you could have foreseen. None of them, except for your sister, your younger cousin and your parents could effectively communicate with your husband. You weren’t about to lie and say that it didn’t matter because it did, but it wasn’t a big deal.
This time you were by Jinyoung’s side most of the time, helping him or your relatives to understand what the other meant or wanted to say. There were a few silly jokes about the Gangnam Style, the only Korean thing they could remember, making Jinyoung laugh wholeheartedly as he also liked that song.
After dining, everyone joined the games in the living room. It was a funny yet bittersweet feeling as you hoped your grandparents could meet your husband, something that had zero possibilities of happening even before you met him. Jinyoung felt your mood change and hugged you closer to him, and you let him comfort you without uttering a single word.
Between a friendly banter and laughs the night drifted to seconds before midnight. Now you were standing up, waiting for the countdown for New Year, when you heard the screams of your family as they said the numbers backwards starting from 10 you felt giddy, as you had always enjoyed this part of the celebrations.
“¡Cinco!” Jinyoung hugged you by your middle, making your body face him.
“¡Cuatro!” you were watching everyone in the room, even the pictures of those who had left this realm early on.
Your parents were looking at you both, and you smiled at them, “¡Tres!”
“¡Dos!” they tried to tell you something, but they weren’t successful at doing so as you had no clue what they were saying.
“¡Uno!” Jinyoung grabbed your chin, and now you were looking at him. He smiled, and you were lost in his shiny warm eyes.
“Feliz Año Nuevo, mi amor” he said perfectly.
Before you even had time to process what happened, he kissed you tenderly and you let him. One of his hands caressed your cheek while the other guided you to his lips, your hands were hugging him by his waist. The kiss felt eternal, even though you knew it lasted only a few seconds.
As you broke apart, your eldest aunt had a cheeky smile, “no nos dijiste que sabe hablar español.”
“Porque no sabe,” you started, “seguramente se aprendió unas cositas nada más.”
Jinyoung laughed and threw an arm over your shoulders, “me ofendes.”
Your head turned to look at him before you could notice it. You must have imagined it, he hadn’t spoken Spanish, you would have noticed it before you came to visit your family.
“¿Qué?” even your parents were endeared by your reaction, “¿ustedes ya sabían?”
Your dad laughed, “desde Navidad.”
“¿En serio no sabías?” your mom said softly.
Looking at Jinyoung with teary eyes, you smiled, “you better explain yourself.”
“Va a sonar muy tonto,” he blushed, and you knew that you had started crying softly already, overwhelmed by the surprise, “pero desde que te conocí empecé a aprender español,” his thumbs wiped your quiet but happy tears. “Son lágrimas de felicidad, ¿cierto? No soportaría hacerte llorar a menos que fuera algo feliz,” he hugged you.
You heard your sister say, “iiiii, ya va a llorar,” so you looked at her, who was mocking you for your reaction.
“Míralos, qué bonitos,” your oldest aunt said, making you blush, you had forgotten for a moment that in this house you couldn’t have a private moment even if you tried to have one.
Everyone laughed and after a few seconds you started hugging everyone in your family, watching Jinyoung speak to them with no problem.
You couldn’t believe how lucky you were by having him in your life, but that didn’t mean that you weren’t grateful for it.
a/n: as a Spanish speaker person this almost made me cry while writing it. also, even if there were some numbers spoken, here you have all the meanings of what the family said:
¡cinco! = 5 ¡cuatro! = 4 ¡tres! = 3 ¡dos! = 2 ¡uno! = 1 ¡feliz año nuevo, mi amor! = happy new year, love! no nos dijiste que sabe hablar español = you didn't tell us that he speaks Spanish porque no sabe = because he doesn't know seguramente se aprendió unas cositas nada más = he could've just learned a few things me ofendes = you offend me ¿qué? = what? ¿ustedes ya sabían? = you knew? ¿en serio no sabías? = you really didn't know? va a sonar muy tonto = it may sound silly pero desde que te conocí empecé a aprender español = but since i met you i started learning Spanish son lágrimas de felicidad, ¿cierto? no soportaría hacerte llorar a menos que fuera algo feliz = those are happy tears, right? i couldn't fathom making you cry if it wasn't for something happy iiiii, ya va a llorar = look, she's gonna cry (in Spanish we can use iiiii as a way to mocking someone) míralos, qué bonitos = look at them, aren't they cute?
